Holmdel's Wall/Stout Cemetery. In partnership with the Veterans Administration and the daughters of the American Revolution Middletown Chapter, the troop installed two flat granite memorials in honor of two veterans of the Revolutionary War. Troop 131 joined other scouts for Scout Day at the National Constitution center in Philadelphia. The troop was able to tour the facility, learn about American history and had the opportunity to earn several merit badges- although the highlight of the trip may have been the cheesesteaks we were able to enjoy!
In June, the troop was invited to spend the weekend at the Cape May Coast Guard training center. The weather cooperated with a fantastic weekend where the Scouts were able to tour the facility including being able to board and explore the 100' Coast Guard Cutter which protects the eastern seaboard. The scouts were also able to interact with other site departments including demonstrations of the fire house and vehicles. Of course- no trip to south Jersey would be complete without a trip to the beach and the wildwood boardwalk!
